What is a second mortgage?
A second mortgage is a loan that is secured by the home itself, and subordinate to the first mortgage. Any mortgage taken out against a home in addition to an already established mortgage automatically becomes a second mortgage.
As the name implies, second mortgages are secondary to first mortgages. This means if the homeowner is forced into foreclosure, the second mortgage holder will receive no proceeds from the sale of the home until the first mortgage has been completely repaid.
Characteristics of a typical second mortgage:
Since the lender's risk is higher, second mortgage loans carry a higher interest rate than first mortgage loans.
Second mortgages are typically shorter in duration (usually 15 years or less).

There are a lot of different shades of green. Some greens are dark and mysterious, while others are bright and cheery. When decorating with this versatile color it is important to know what the shade you are using, says about the room you are working on.
Dark greens are great colors for adding serenity to a space. Tranquil tones, they often simulate the experience of entering a deep and mysterious forest. If you paint your walls this color, or use dark green patterns in the room, you will make the space feel peaceful, but also lethargic. Therefore you have to be careful about overdoing the dark green tones. You can balance them out by using lighter, airier matched colors, such as certain tans, yellows, or reds.

Commonly referred to as "mans best friend", most dog owners regard their dogs as members of their family; in fact, some of them prefer to sleep next to their pet dogs rather than share the bed with their spouses.
