The History and the Future of Garage Organizer Systems

May 31st, 2009 by admin

Take a brief look at the history of garage organizer systems, and get a glimps of how your garage may by organized in the future.

The original garage organizer system was just some basic shelves that were put up along the garage walls, usually just using scraps of plywood and pine that were lying around the house. I have to admit, this is still the type of garage organizer that we use today. It works fairly well for boxes, but not good for all the miscellaneous, odd shaped items that end up in the garage.

After basic shelves, came the evolution of a utility shelf. Often made out of metal or heavy duty plastic, and the plastic ones usually break completely down to shelves and supports. We have some of these also, both the plastic type that break down as well as heavy duty metal shelves.

Garage Shelving - A Must Have

May 31st, 2009 by admin

Garage shelving is more than just about managing clutter. It is also about living in our higher selves and creating peace in not only our own lives, but also in the lives of those we live with.

Garage shelving really isn't an option. It's more of a necessity really. If you have tried living without shelving in your garage you know what a cluttered mess it can get to be. Not only does it help keep items up off the floor and organized, it also helps you keep your sanity. That's why it is a must have. I don't understand everything about feng shui, but I do know that it is supposedly a good thing to try to create in your living spaces. If you can't feel at ease in a space, walk easily through it, or think straight while you are in it, then it isn't very feng shui, and that is a bad thing. So here are three ways that garage shelving can help you keep your mental space clear, as well as the floor.

A Garage Floor Deserves More

May 30th, 2009 by admin

My poor garage floor deserves better. It has done nothing to deserve the abuse it has suffered at my sometimes careless hands. There it is just minding it's own business, when, “Wham!”, a hammer or other heavy tool hits it and chips away part of the concrete, just because I wasn't being careful. Or, right when it thinks everybody is being careful and there is nothing to fear, “Slosh!”, there goes about a quart of stain splashing out of the gallon in a moment of careless mindlessness when I forget to pay attention and knock the can into the bench when I turn to soon. I feel bad, I really do.
